We discovered many facts about Roald Dahl and played many games, our favourite was spot the difference on the BFG. We made some Roald Dahl book marks and this afternoon we will be watching 'Matilda'.'

Spaghetti Everywhere!!!

In Science we have been spotting the difference between natural and processed materials and how they can change form. We looked at raw and cooked spaghetti and brainstormed the different features of both. To finish off, we created these amazing Spaghetti Art pieces.

Mad Scientists!!!

Today in Year Three we had the opportunity to experience a High School Science lesson. Mr P came into our class and taught us all about chemical changes. We looked at ice turning from a solid to a liquid (water) to a gas (steam). We did this by using the tripod, bunser burner and a beaker. We also got to explore using gases and a flame to create a noise. We had the best time, we remembered to stay safe and wear our protective glasses. We can't wait for our next lesson.

Term 3 - Water Wise

This term in Year Three we are learning to become more water wise. We are rearching facts about conserving water and how we can make a difference. So far we have made a list of ways in which we can save water and we are in the process of making posters to hang around our school. Water is such a precious resource and if we don't show others how they can do their bit now - we'll have no water in the future.
Stay posted to see our Water works around the school.......

Barn Babes!

Today we were able to experience farm animals for ourselves. Both the Year 1 & Year 3 class had a visit from the Barn Babes. We were given the opportunity to spend some time in the pen with some fluffy rabbits, chicks, goats, a pig and an alpaca. We also got to feed the baby guinea pigs. We had the best day and to finish it off we got to dance around in our checked shirts, boots and hats to the heel and toe and nut bush.

So much has happened so far this year:

~ we are still supporting our adoptive orang-utans, this term we are participating in a competition to help save the rainforests.
~ we are focusing on the topic of Farming this term, we have already made some wonderings which we hope to discover through our guest speakers and Barb Babes visit. We are having a farm day at school where will start the day with a farm breakfast, animals will visit and we will have a barn dance.
~ Next Thursday is Sorry Day, we will celebrate by beginning the day with a special service and by wearing the Aboriginal colours - black, red and yellow.
