Mad Scientists!!!

Today in Year Three we had the opportunity to experience a High School Science lesson. Mr P came into our class and taught us all about chemical changes. We looked at ice turning from a solid to a liquid (water) to a gas (steam). We did this by using the tripod, bunser burner and a beaker. We also got to explore using gases and a flame to create a noise. We had the best time, we remembered to stay safe and wear our protective glasses. We can't wait for our next lesson.

Term 3 - Water Wise

This term in Year Three we are learning to become more water wise. We are rearching facts about conserving water and how we can make a difference. So far we have made a list of ways in which we can save water and we are in the process of making posters to hang around our school. Water is such a precious resource and if we don't show others how they can do their bit now - we'll have no water in the future.
Stay posted to see our Water works around the school.......

A new Class-Year 3, 2011!

We have started a new year and have some new faces in Year 3. We have 28 children this year, 4 which are new to our school. We have all settled into our new routines and learning. This term our topic is 'Community' we have guest speakers visitin us and we are also going on an excursion to the local library. We are very busy preparing for our sacrament of first Reconciliation.

On Monday we are celebrating Harmony Day (it is actually the international day on Monday 21st March but we have decided to celebrate early). We will keep you posted on the activities we complete on Monday and what cultures we learn about.
