Hi Bloggers,
We have a busy term ahead of us. Where do I start...
Maths - in the Maths learning area, we are looking at measurement and shape. The students are investigating with different units in measurement through real life experiments, they will use direct and indirect measurement and estimation skills to describe, compare, and evaluate real life objects and problems. In shape students will use, match, identify, draw and describe features of 2D shapes and 3D objects.
English - in the English learning area, the students will look at poetry in particular Haiku poems, they will write an informative report through a planet project and practice their questionening skills through performing interviews with a teacher of their choice. Also Daily 5 will be continuing and the students will participate in all the 5 strategies Read To Someone, Read To Self, Listen to Reading, Work On Writing and Word Work on a regular basis.
Science - in the Science learning area, we are looking at Earth and beyond and with our outerspace passports who knows where we will end up? Additionally to match our Space theme in T&E the students will plan, design and make their own ISS (International Space Station) with recycable materials.
Something new - this term Dance Sport is starting, the students will be participating in Dance Sport every Wednesday and I personally can not wait to see their moves.
Religion - in Religion we are completing the unit 'All Powerful God' during the first half of term and then the most exciting part is the second half of term, when we do the 'Coming To Your Table' unit. This is a preparation unit for the sacrament of First Holy Communion or Eucharist which the students will be completing on the 1st of July. This is a very special sacrament as to receive him in Holy Communion, Jesus is showing how close he wants to be with each of them and they are showing him the same in return. It is a very personal and spiritual time in a person's life.
Wow what a term!! I am sure that is not all but that will do for now I will try and keep you updated regularly with special dates and events, until then...
Blog you later spacettes,
Mrs L :) .
